Weekly Weigh In 20

This weeks landfill bag weighed in at 311g.

This is higher than I had hoped but we did a carboot sale today and when we sorted through for things to sell we had some bits of broken plastic which have to be thrown out.

If I take out the carboot items the bag weighed in at 178g so would have been a good week.

  1. Just catching up with all your posts. Well done on the last couple of weeks weigh in. It's amazing how much we can add to our waste when we have a clearout. it's still a great total though, even with the broken casualties.

I hope you car boot sale was profitable!

Have you made a decision on your kitchen bin yet? I loved your tip about compacting recyclables - it does make life easier and thanks for the heads up on JS crisps being made from british potatoes; I'll be adding them to my list; although I'm a fan of tyrells and the potatoes for those are grown in the next county!

  2. Hi Rae,

The bin has now been replaced by an old lego box (bucket size), so we shall see how that goes.

I also like Pipers Crisps whose potatoes are grown here in Lincolnshire and the crisps are produced approx 30 miles away, but from a monetary point the JS ones are good as they are cheaper, especially if needing a few for packups etc.

We didn't do too badly from the carboot and will be trying to do a few more throughout the summer. (longterm savings for a holiday abroad)
